Netgalley.com is my favorite place to find new books to read. Netgalley is a website where you apply to read ARC’s (advanced reader copies). This is a great way to read upcoming books in exchange for a review of the book. The website is a two way street, the publisher is giving out free ebooks in exchange for a review. There is a fine balance with going on request sprees and reading the books (Especially when I accidentally request too many and the publisher accepts them all)
kMy feedback is currently sitting at 81%. 80% is the goal and you’re more likely to be given arcs by publishers if you are sitting at that ratio.
TOP TIP: when getting started, start out with Read Now titles!
Here are some of the reasons I use netgalley
1. You get to read highly anticipated books early!
2. There are badges you can collect( I would really like to get an auto approved badge for any publishers reading)
3.Being one of the first to read a book is the best feeling!
4. Free Audiobooks (the app is okay, occasionally it is a bit buggy but the books can be sped up which keeps me happy *x2 speed gang*
5. The cookbooks often give me great ideas
The one con when you get rejected it feels like a personal attack. ( I don’t think it is but my RSD takes it badly)
