Cracking the Code: Hashtag Hacks for Bookworms on Instagram! 2024

Calling all bookstagrammers! Whether you are sharing your thoughts on the books you have read, showing off your latest book haul or even just pictures of your bookshelf. When sharing your love of literature, hashtags are your one way to widen your audience. But with an endless sea of options, how do you choose the right ones?

Don’t worry this blog post will help you with the knowledge to curate the perfect hashtag strategy.

**The Power of Hashtags:**
Hashtags act like little signposts, directing fellow book enthusiasts to your content. Make sure you are using relevant hashtags, this will increase the chances of your posts being discovered by people actively searching for those topics. This can lead to more likes, comments, followers, and ultimately, a thriving bookish community around your profile.

Tips I currently use:

* **Variety is Key:**

Don’t just rely on generic hashtags like #bookstagram or #booklover , these are popular but you will probably get lost in the noise. Make sure to mix things up with a blend of popular think #reading, #books  and use more niche hashtags, think #historicalfiction, #fantasyread & #darkacademia.

**Target Your Audience:**

Consider the vibe of your content when you are hashtagging. A cozy picture with a cup of tea and a romance novel might call for  #hygge and #romancereads, while a photo of a dystopian thriller could benefit from #thrillerbooks #darkreads and #unputdownable.

**Community Matters:**

Use specific hashtags for the book itself.  Additionally, hashtags for book clubs, author names, and reading challenges can connect you with a dedicated audience.

**Don’t Go Overboard:**

Instagram allows up to 30 hashtags, but i usually max out a 7. This stops your caption looking too crammed and cluttered. Hashtags will also work in your comments

**Bonus Tip:** Create your own branded hashtag! This could be your username or a catchy phrase related to your bookish content. Encourage followers to use it when posting about your book recommendations or reviews.
