My reading goal this year is 52 books, which breaks down to one book a week. This shouldn’t be too difficult, considering the plethora of genres and captivating stories available to explore. However, if you don’t make reading a habit and incorporate it into your daily routine, you might find it challenging to manage even one book a week. Establishing a reading schedule, perhaps setting aside time in the evenings or during breaks, can help cultivate this habit.
Joining a book club or participating in reading challenges can provide motivation and accountability, making the journey not only achievable but also enjoyable. By prioritizing reading and making it a vital part of your life, you can discover new ideas, broaden your perspectives, and immerse yourself in different worlds through the pages of a book.
Its nearly the end of may and I am currently 10 books ahead of schedule (32 books). Its been a pretty excellent reading year so far.

Some of my highlights have been:
* Great big beautiful life- Emily Henry
* The Legendborn Cycle- Tracy Deonn
*The irresistable Urge to Fall for your enemy – Brigitte Knightley
Now, how do I read so many books (None of these tips are ground-breaking)
* I take my book everywhere.
* Audiobooks allow you to listen on the go, whether it’s while I’m exercising or when I’m cleaning.
* I put my phone out of the room. (If it’s not, I will scroll mindlessly for hours.)
* I pick books I know I will like – This might sound silly, but the genre really changes the speed at which I can read the books.
My average reading time for certain genres:
Romance books 12 hours- 2 days
Lit Fic 2 days – 2 months
Fantasy books 10 days- 4 months
I’ve been trying to read Priory of the orange tree for about 6 months now. I think I will need to start from the beginning as it has just been sitting on my bedside table for 6 months.
This post is mostly to say, try being consistent and reading should be fun and doesn’t need to be a chore. I would recommend books that challenge you, but don’t force it because if you do, you might end up in a reading slump!
